My brother James works for a small manufacturer of airplane parts. It is highly specialised and a family run business.
They feel that they could take on more work or expand the products that they offer but they need a more efficient shop floor.
I suggested the look into electronic data management for the shop floor. A system where parts or orders or both can be entered into a computer tracking system that will help them know how fast a product or order takes from start to end. It would help them track who is doing the best work and without all the actual papers, will cut down on storage space.
