I wasn’t sure how I felt about one of the presents my family gave to my cat, via me of course, for Christmas. It was a laser pointer that created different images with its light. I thought how not satisfying for an animal this toy would be. At least with a play mouse my cat can grab it and bat it around, but what does it get from a point of light? Well, I tried it out on my cat, flashing it around on the floor, the kitchen table, his cat supplies, the couches, and he went berserk! He was bouncing everywhere, running around trying to catch the thing. It was actually really good exercise and he seemed to be having fun – but I’m still not so sure if it’s nice to tease him with something he can’t really catch.
