There are hordes of people who want to become backing dancers. I’m sure you’ve heard of audition queues spilling out onto the street and around the block in some cases.
The fact is there are a lot of people competing for those handful of chances to become a backing dancer. It may seem quite daunting for someone starting out in the industry but it’s the way the industry is.
Of course if you’re a girl it’s worse as there are many more female dancers than male. This of course makes it even more important to stand out.
And I believe that is the key - to stand out. There are many ways to do this but you need to stand out in a way that is unique to you and offer something others can’t replicate.
I have to say that I do love the professional photograph sessions but I love the candid shots more. I am looking for a photographer that can do both for me. I need candid yet professional shots on my child’s first birthday. My first daughter literally had the red carpet rolled out for her and I feel like we are dropping the ball for our second daughter. I would at least like a portrait photographer in Leeds to be there during her birthday party to catch the best moments so that when she grows up she will think she had all the bells and whistles that her sister had for her 1st birthday.
Chandeliers have always seemed synonymous with elegance, wealth, and beauty. Immortalized by Hollywood, one might believe that no grand house was complete, unless it had a lavish cut-crystal chandelier hanging in the formal dining room. Surprisingly, the true history of the chandelier dates back to a time long before beautiful southern belles and movie stars. In fact, the first chandeliers were quite humble, when compared to their modern counterparts. The word ‘chandelier’ comes from the French word ‘chandelle,’ meaning candle, and the earliest forms of these lighting simply consisted of a wooden cross, designed with a small spike at each end. Candles, made of animal fat in those days, were attached to each of these wooden…
Attending a dance class could be very good for you. You get healthy, you make some chums, and you become a better dancer. Quite simple really, and completely worthwhile.I ran across this class when surfing on Msn, I typed in dance classes North London, and up they popped, again: Easy really. So far I have gone once, and am still as keen as toast. I guess this could be down to the dull pain in my knees, which shows it must be doing me good; either that or I might be dying. Ho ho ho.Attend right now, and you won’t be disappointed.
I really am fond of almost all genres of music but I think that my favorite kind has got to be rap. Just like I am fond of a lot of different styles of music I am also very fond of different rap artists. I like everyone from Will Smith to Snoop Dog, however one of my favorites has to be Nas. I have liked this artist very much ever since I first heard one of his songs. I really do like music just in general though and I have a lot of different albums of a very large variety as well.
Certain categories can be so vague that everything and anything can fall under them. Street dance is one of these categories. It is simultaneously the name for hip hop dance, locking, popping and even breakdancing.
So if someone who says that they do street dance you sometimes have to wonder what type of street dance they do. Most likely it will be some sort of street dance routine similar to hip hop dance but it could be any or all of the dance styles above.
Hip hop dance can also encompass all these styles to confuse matters even further. When someone says hip hop dance they usually mean the types of routines you often see hip hop dance troupes doing, but they can also mean locking, popping, breakdancing and street dance!
There’s always new activities, fashions and trends ever coming and passing. And it’s almost inevitably youth at the forefront of it.
Recently I’ve tried to keep up with the culture. Fashion check - easy to purchase but hard to always pull off. Hair check - go to the barbers and try out whatever David Beckham’s sporting at the moment. Music check - look at the singles or hip-hop charts. Dancing - ah dancing. That one’s harder to fake.
I’ve been attending street dance classes and it’s hard to fake. Well you can fake it after a few gos but not straight away. You want to get to the point where you’re not faking it and it feels natural and looks beautiful to the observer. Goals, goals, goals! Just one skill to master and I’m as cool as the youths of today.
