Relapse prevention is an integral part of the recovery process when dealing with any type of addict.  It is especially important when talking about drug and alcohol addicts.  There is nothing worse than knowing that you could have prevented a drug relapse if only you had had the strength of character to forego it.  When drug and alcohol addicts are out of drug rehab, they’re never really out.  The temptation will always be there to do drugs or alcohol again, and sometimes it will feel incredibly intense.  This is where it will take the support of family and friends to help them get through it.  If you know that you have a friend or family member who is a recovering alcoholic, then make sure there is no alcohol at any functions you host where they are invited to attend.  It will only make it that much more difficult to enjoy themselves if they see everyone else drinking and all of this alcohol surrounding them.
