My sister has been a single parent for five years now and her son is six years old. He just started school and is there for part of the day which helps with her day care problems. The job she has does not pay a lot of money so her budget is extremely limited. By the time she pays for rent and the bills she cannot afford to pay for after school care. All of her family lives out of town and so she has no one to watch him. He boss suggested that she see about getting some assistance for single mothers through the Head Start program in her area.
