Almost every time I see a deck that has new deck stain applied to it, it looks like the person who did the job did not cover every spot. However, I see very few decks with big spots of dark or light stain and I do not know how this works. I heard once that deck stain was different from paint and that you do not really have to cover every part the same because it soaks in but I just want more explanation on this because I do not understand.
