If you are looking for science fair projects for middle schools and want an interesting one that we have to deal with in our everyday lives then why not try finding out which materials can be charged by static electricity and which ones can’t. We all know how irritating the static electricity sparks can be when we come across them. Let your child find out what causes them and what can be done to stop them. A mechanical or electronic electroscope will need to be built to test which materials can be charged with static electricity. The only problem is that if you live in more humid or hot climates this project might not work.
